"Painting for me is a freeing experience," says Soforic of his work. "It is a visual exploration and a surprise."
After graduation, Soforic moved to Los Angeles, CA and worked in the film industry. While in California he returned to his first love of drawing and later painting. He is self-taught and has sold pieces to private collections in California and Missouri.

"In my work, I emphasize the beauty of color and a sense of rhythm with little dictation," he explains. "I am fascinated with that which is around us, that we either overlook or are unable to see with the naked eye. Things like radio and light waves crisscrossing through space, in a constant race for position, or the beautiful intricate pattern of a marble surface."

Soforic's most recent work will be on exhibit at The Cup and Saucer on Delaware Street for the month of January. The collection is titled "Background Noise".

"In these latest paintings I was particularly interested in trying to capture a sense of motion," says Soforic.
There will be an opening reception held on Friday, January 3, from 7-9pm. The reception is open to the public. Wine and hors d'oeuvres will be served. The Cup and Saucer features the work of a local artist each month. An opening reception is generally held on the first Friday of each month from 7-9pm.
